Chelsea forward Joao Felix has poured cold water on reports that he could join Newcastle this summer.
An Instagram post shared by Eleven Portugal photoshopped Felix wearing a Newcastle shirt, which led the striker to reply:
“É só sabichões! [It’s just know-it-alls]”
Felix seems to be suggesting that those who are spreading rumours really don’t know anything about his future.
He is currently on loan with Chelsea but, due to the fact that the Blues don’t have an option to buy the 23-year-old, he will return to Atletico Madrid next month.
Felix wants to stay in the Premier League
It has been reported that Atletico will demand close to €100m (£87m) to sell the player on a permanent basis and that is where the rumours about a switch to Newcastle began.
Felix is said to be keen on remaining in the UK and, if possible, he would also prefer to play for a Champions League team. The Magpies, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United would, therefore, fit the criteria.
From the looks of things, though, the Portuguese international has yet to make up his mind about where he will be playing next season.
