Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin is set to be ruled out for four to six weeks with a hamstring injury, according to reports.
The Frenchman could now miss the rest of the season and while fans on Twitter are disappointed with the news, they are not surprised, considering the player’s past injury record:
Just as he was hitting some of his old form….. hope he gets back soon.

This is getting a bit ridiculous. How many times has this happened now? His hamstrings are very fragile.

Saint-Maximin had been hitting his stride in recent weeks and it will be a blow to the Magpies’ chances of securing Champions League qualification.
Eddie Howe’s team are in a good position at the moment, sitting third in the Premier League table. However, with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool, Brighton and even Aston Villa battling to finish in the top four, they may see Saint-Maximin’s injury as an opportunity to take advantage.
Of course, Newcastle have shown they are more than capable of coping without some big players this campaign, and they also now have a ready-made replacement in Anthony Gordon who could come in and make an impact.
