Newcastle forward Joelinton‘s goal against Tottenham at the weekend was another milestone in what has been an outstanding season for the Brazilian.
The 26-year-old ghosted past the Spurs defence before showing the composure to go around Hugo Lloris and slot the ball into the back of the net.
Joelinton has received a lot of criticism over the years, some of it deserved, but he has turned around his career at St James’ Park and fans on Twitter have been quick to give credit where credit’s due:
New contract needed!

It should be pointed out that Joelinton was played out of position at the start of his time with the Magpies. He is not an out-and-out striker, and he began to excel only once he was deployed in deeper lying positions.
Under Eddie Howe’s guidance, though, he has gone on to another level. While he is, by no means, the most talented player in the team, his work ethic and energy typifies what this Newcastle side is all about.
