Newcastle And 4 Other Clubs Are Targeting 37 Cap Portuguese Midfield General Who Is ‘Prepared’ To Make Summer Switch

Newcastle are one of five teams keeping tabs on Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves’s contract situation, according to 90min.com.

The 26-year-old, who has been capped 37 times by Portugal, will have one year remaining on his current deal at the end of the season.

Wolves will offer Neves an extension but 90min claim that his agent, Jorge Mendes, has already told interested clubs, including the Magpies, that the midfielder is “prepared to leave” Molineux.

Liverpool, Tottenham, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are believed to be the other main suitors for the Portuguese international. Arsenal and Manchester United have also been mentioned as possible destinations in the past but it appears they have moved on to other targets.

Neves has been outstanding for Wolves since moving to the Midlands just under six years ago, and if he does end up making the switch to St James’ Park, it would be a huge coup for Eddie Howe, who could partner him with Bruno Guimaraes.
