Newcastle Have £58M Brazilian Ace ‘In Their Sights’ As Club Line Up ‘Three Or Four’ Marquee Summer Signings

Newcastle are lining up a summer bid for Barcelona winger Raphinha, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan publication claims the Magpies have the Brazilian international “in their sights” as they seek to make “three or four” high-profile signings during the summer transfer window.

Raphinha only joined Barca from Leeds for a reported €65m (£58m) last year but the La Liga club need to raise around €100m (£89m) to balance the books and the 26-year-old is deemed to be one of their most saleable assets.

Mundo Deportivo say that Eddie Howe’s side were actually interested in the forward before he moved to Spain and it appears they will revive their interest in the coming weeks.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal also made concerted efforts to recruit Raphinha before Barcelona won the race for his signature so there is a possibility that Newcastle will have to see off competition from other English clubs to get their man.
