Newcastle United Latest Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Alexander Isak And Three More

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak will be a doubt for the Magpies next game against league leaders Liverpool.

Newcastle come off the back of a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace which has put Eddie Howe’s side 11th in the Premier League after 13 games.

They face a Liverpool side on Wednesday who just won 2-0 against Manchester City and have a nine-point gap at the top of the Premier League.

The Magpies could be without star striker Alexander Isak however as he picked up a groin issue against Palace and had to be substituted off after 22 minutes for midfielder Harvey Barnes.

Eddie Howe spoke after the game on Isak’s injury and said: “It was a contact injury, not a muscle pull, which is good news for us. We hope he will recover quickly, but at this moment, I don’t know.”

Expected return date – Unknown

Sven Botman

Defender Botman has been out for an extended period of time with a knee issue, but he is getting closer to returning which will be a major boost for the Magpies.

The 24-year-old will most likely miss most of the Christmas period but should be back as the January transfer window begins.

There is a chance that he could return sooner, but after being out for over eight months, he won’t be rushed back into the starting XI.

Expected return date – Saturday 4 January vs Tottenham Hotspur
