Newcastle Star Set To Miss Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal And Forest Fixtures As Club Are Dealt Big Injury Blow

Newcastle right-back Kieran Trippier is set to be sidelined for over a month due to a hamstring injury, according to the Daily Mail.

The 34-year-old had to be taken off in the second half of the 0-0 draw against Everton last weekend.

It was feared that Trippier would be out for a while and it now looks like he will be missing until the next international break in November.

The defender is set to be absent for the Magpies’ next five games in all competitions.

Which matches will Trippier miss?

The England international will not be available when Eddie Howe’s side take on Brighton next weekend. He will also be sidelined for the doubleheader against Chelsea.

Newcastle travel to Stamford Bridge for the league fixture on October 27th ahead of a Carabao Cup tie a few days later.

Arsenal then visit St James’ Park at the start of November before Howe’s team make the trip to face Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle have 6 other injuries

There is some better news on the injury front for the Magpies. Both Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak are expected to be back available following the current international break.

The former has been out with a back problem while the latter needed time to recover from a toe injury he has been nursing for several weeks.

Martin Dubravka could also be fit to take his place on the bench against Brighton, with the keeper having overcome a minor knee problem.

Lewis Miley was estimated to be out for 12 weeks when he broke his metatarsal back in July. It means he should be nearing a return to training but there has been no confirmation of that yet. Neither Sven Botman nor Jamaal Lascelles are expected to make their comeback from ACL injuries before the end of the calendar year.
