Newcastle Star Earns Praise From Estevao As He Names The 7 Brazil Teammates Who Are “Helping” Him

Chelsea winger Estevao claims Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes is one of several players who have helped him to acclimatise to international football.

The teenager scored his first goal for Brazil against Chile on Friday during a 3-0 win, and speaking about his teammates, Estevao said:

“The relationship here with everyone is really good, you know. Of course, I am closer to Joao [Pedro] and Andrey [Santos], because we’re together every day there [at Chelsea].”

“Regarding the older players, Marquinhos is a guy who’s been helping me a lot. Alisson, Raphinha, Paqueta, Bruno Guimaraes. These guys are helping me a lot in this early stage of the Brazilian national team.”

Bruno is among the most experienced in Brazil’s squad

Guimaraes has been capped 36 times by his country, which may not sound like a lot, but Brazil have a lot of young players (like Estevao), who are just getting started at international level.

Considering that he captains his club, it is not a complete surprise that Bruno is taking some of his less-experienced Brazilian teammates under his wing.

It is also interesting to see that, with the exception of Marquinhos, all the players mentioned by Estevao are either playing in the Premier League or have played in this country. Allisson is at Liverpool, Paqueta is with West Ham and Raphinha spent some time at Leeds.

Newcastle have plenty of new players to bed in

As he is the leader in the dressing room, Guimaraes will have his work cut out when he returns to Tyneside in terms of helping to integrate several new signings.

Both Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa arrived just before the transfer window closed, while the likes of Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey, Malick Thiaw and Aaron Ramsdale have also been snapped up in recent weeks.
