Newcastle United Reportedly Planning Transfer Offer For 30-Cap Young Star

Newcastle United are set to make a mammoth offer for creative attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai – it is speculated that the deal could amount to around £61 million [via Nemzeti Sport].

On top of this, Newcastle are also reportedly willing to hand the Hungarian starboy a considerable wage – according to Nemzeti Sport, he will earn £190,000 a week, should he opt to sign with the Magpies. They also state that ‘concrete negotiations’ between Newcastle and Leipzig could soon commence.

Szoboszlai, who currently plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, has also won 30 caps for his native Hungary – despite his relatively young age of 22.

He also boasts a trophy cabinet that would make the majority of Premier League veterans blush. He has won the Austrian Bundesliga on four occasions, the Austrian Cup three times, and he also has a single DFB-Pokal under his belt.

Newcastle aren’t the only ones who are believed to be interested in bringing Szoboszlai on board – Chelsea have registered an interest in the past, but the Toon appear to be the frontrunners at this current moment.

This season, across 28 appearances, Szoboszlai has scored four goals in the Bundesliga, alongside eight assists. Can he replicate this at St. James’ Park next season?
