£76M-Rated Newcastle United Transfer Target Now Wanted By Chelsea, Arsenal And West Ham

Newcastle United have been linked to Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani who is subject to heavy transfer interest.

The Frenchman has fallen out of favour at the Parc de Princes and should be available to sign in the January transfer window.

Kolo Muani has made 10 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring two goals and one assist. He joined PSG in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £76.4m, but has significantly underperformed his hefty price tag.

French news outlet Footmercato has suggested that Chelsea are set to make a move for the 26-year-old in the January transfer window, meaning that Newcastle may need to outbid them.

The Magpies are in need of more attacking firepower as they are currently sat seventh in the Premier League, six points off the Champions League places.

They have already been linked to signing PSV winger Johan Bakayoko, and following on from Callum Wilson’s injury struggles, may decide to add another attacker in the form of Kolo Muani.

Newcastle face competition from Premier League rivals

The report doesn’t just suggest that Newcastle and Chelsea will battle it out for Kolo Muani’s signature, but Arsenal have also been linked.

The Gunners are in need of a striker as they have been linked to several names, including Newcastle star Alexander Isak.

West Ham United are also included in the report as a possible destination for Kolo Muani, however, it states that would be on a loan move rather than a permanent transfer.

Kolo Muani could replace possible January departure of Alexander Isak

Arsenal and Chelsea are both reportedly keen on signing Swedish striker Alexander Isak. If he was to depart in January, the Magpies could sign Kolo Muani as his replacement.

Newcastle have set a hefty £115m price tag on Isak, who has scored 11 goals and four assists for the Magpies. He is the fourth-top scorer in the league.

Kolo Muani would have to step up his form if he was to become a replacement for Isak, however, they are similar strikers in playstyle, so he could provide a solid alternative.
