Newcastle United Vs Tottenham Hotspur: Match Preview And Injury News

Following a poor outing last weekend, Newcastle United will be looking to right some wrongs as they take on fellow Champions League hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle are set to be without Allan Saint-Maximin, Emil Krafth and Ryan Fraser for their game against Spurs. Outside of these three, the Magpies have no fresh injury concerns to worry about.

In their last game, the Magpies floundered to a disappointing 3-0 loss against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. It was largely one-way traffic for the duration of the game, as Villa consistently pressed the Toon into losing possession. In the end, the Villans’ goals were scored by Jacob Ramsey and a brace from Ollie Watkins.

Meanwhile, Tottenham were also beaten in their last fixture, as they were shockingly defeated by relegation-threatened Bournemouth at home. After Arnaut Danjuma scored in the 88th minute, Spurs looked to have salvaged a point – however, a strike in the 95th minute from Dango Ouattara condemned the North London club to an ignominious defeat.

The last time the two teams met, all the way back in October, Newcastle came away with the three points. The Toon went 2-0 up in the first half thanks to Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron – Spurs battled back in the second half as Harry Kane scored, but they could not find an equaliser. Will it be repeat or revenge on Sunday afternoon?
