REPORT: Newcastle United Transfer Target Available In The Summer For £22 Million

Newcastle United transfer target Victor Nelsson will be available for transfer for a price of around £22 million, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Romano mentions that two English clubs are interested in signing the Danish defender – however, he does not name them. Additionally, he also mentions that Galatasaray will not consider any bids for less than €25 million (roughly £22 million).

In Romano’s tweet, he wrote: “Members of Galatasaray board are in UK for negotiations. Two English clubs are keen on signing Sacha Boey and Victor Nelsson. Gala will only consider bids for more than €25m for Boey; same for Nelsson.”

Who else is interested in Newcastle target Victor Nelsson?

As expected, Newcastle are not the only ones who are keen to snap up Victor Nelsson in the summer – Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool also have an interest in the player.

However, with the Toon recently having secured Champions League football, he may prefer a move to Tyneside if the Reds fail to finish in the top four.

Romano mentioned that ‘two English clubs’ are interested in signing Nelsson – it’s merely speculation, but it is likely that they are Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Victor Nelsson career summary

Nelsson’s youth career reportedly began at Hornbæk IF, when he was just four years old. After spending eight years there, he was headhunted and signed by Nordsjælland in 2010.

After six years in their academy, he made his senior debut in 2016 for the Tigrene. In 2019, he was transferred to FC Copenhagen, before signing for Galatasaray in 2021 for a fee of around £7 million.

Since then, he has gone on to make 62 appearances for the Turkish giants, scoring a solitary league goal. Furthermore, he has also won a handful of senior caps for his native Denmark. At the time of writing, Nelsson has made 10 international appearances for his country.
