Newcastle Told They Can Seal “Perfect” Transfer With Ex-City Star Set To Become Available For Free

Newcastle may consider snapping up Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane on a free transfer, according to former Premier League scout Mick Brown.

Sane is out of contract at the end of the season and it’s looking increasingly likely that the former Manchester City player will leave the Allianz Arena. The Magpies have been mentioned as a potential suitor in recent weeks and Brown says it could prove to be a shrewd addition considering the finances involved:

“I’ve heard Newcastle are among those clubs who will be looking to bring him [Sane] in, and I’d be surprised if they didn’t at least try to get it done.”

“Given his availability on a free, they’ll be looking to get him in with no outgoing fee which would be perfect for their finances.”

Sane can sign a pre-contract agreement within weeks

The German international will reach the final six months of his contract at the end of this year, and he will then be allowed to speak with foreign clubs.

Newcastle could potentially reach a deal with Sane in the very near future if the player is open to the move.

Newcastle will have competition

Considering the calibre of the player, Eddie Howe’s team are unlikely to be the only ones looking to offer Sane a pre-contract agreement. It has also been reported that Arsenal are considering an approach.

The Gunners already have Bukayo Saka, though, so Sane wouldn’t be guaranteed starts if he were to make the switch to the Emirates.

In contrast, the Magpies have been pursuing a new first-choice right winger for quite some time so they can offer the 28-year-old certain assurances about his game time if he does choose to make the move to the North East.
