Newcastle supporters have been discussing a potential bid for Southampton fullback Tino Livramento.
The Chelsea academy graduate has just recovered from a serious knee injury but he is a highly regarded young player, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City having also taken an interest in the player previously.
Most fans on Twitter do believe that Livramento would be a good addition to the squad, but there are some concerns about his fitness record:
Would take him and KWP both quality.

he's a good player, would take him 100% but he just came back would probably be better to stay in the champ

Great signing, ease his way back by learning from Trippier, he can also cover LB.. Signing him would also future proof the RB position for when Trips calls it a day

Livramento would have to battle Trippier for a starting spot
Having two quality players in every position has to be the aim for the Magpies, especially with the club being in the Champions League next season.
For that reason, signing a very promising young player like Livramento would make a lot of sense. He could compete with Kieran Trippier for starts, while allowing manager Eddie Howe to give the 32-year-old a rest when required.
Southampton’s relegation does offer up an opportunity to sign Livramento
While the England Under 21 international won’t be someone that the Saints will want to sell this summer, there is a possibility that he will be available.
You can’t see Livramento being sold on the cheap, but the fact that Southampton will be playing in the Championship does weaken their bargaining position.
Balancing the books will become a priority and, if they do receive serious bids for their players in the coming days and weeks, they will have to consider them.
