Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes started for Brazil in their 5-1 win over Bolivia on Friday evening.
The 25-year-old did not misplace a single pass and provided an outstanding assist for Rodrygo before being substituted midway through the second half of the World Cup qualifier.
Fans on X are delighted that Guimaraes performed so well for his country and they are hoping that he can bring that form back with him when he returns to the UK:

Needs to bring that kind of form back to the toon, as he has been poor since the start of the season

Good to see him have a performance like that will do him the world of good coming back. Hopefully Howe watches it back and can use his good form more effectively. Does anyone know if he was playing further forward?

Guimaraes has had a difficult start to the season
Magpies supporters have noticed a serious drop in form from the Brazilian international since the beginning of the campaign. His passing has been somewhat wayward, while he hasn’t been covering as much ground.
Some have attributed his poor displays to uncertainty about whether he will stay at St James’ Park.
His Newcastle future could be resolved soon
It has been reported that there has been a breakthrough in talks over a contract extension. While Guimaraes only joined the Magpies in January 2022, the club wanted to reward the player for his fine form.
Talks, however, dragged on for a while, and there was also speculation about moves to Liverpool and even Real Madrid. However, any transfer talk will die down if he puts pen to paper on a new deal.
