Newcastle United Fan-Favourite Posts Photo With Adorable Pet Dogs On Instagram

Newcastle United cult hero Jonas Gutierrez posted a photo on Instagram alongside his beloved pet pooches – in total, four dogs can be seen in the album he uploaded.

Gutierrez, who is also known by his nickname of ‘El Galgo’ (which means ‘The Greyhound’ in Spanish), is shown playing with his wholesome hounds in the photos, including a wonderful snap of him walking them along a tranquil beach.

He uploaded the post on International Pet Day, as such, he captioned the post with: “My loves! Happy International Pet day.”

Gutierrez’s post has been liked by another former icon at Newcastle – none other than Fabricio Coloccini, who played for the Toon from 2008 to 2016 – almost parallel with Gutierrez.

Gutierrez played for Newcastle between the years of 2008 and 2015. In that time, he scored 11 goals over the course of 187 Premier League appearances.

He is perhaps best known for his well-documented battle with testicular cancer. El Galgo revealed his battle with the illness in 2014, when he had just one round of chemotherapy left to complete. When he returned in 2015 in a game against Liverpool, he was given a standing ovation by both the Newcastle and Reds fans.

Even more remarkably, upon his return to first-team football, Gutierrez scored the winning goal in a game against West Ham United to ensure Newcastle’s Premier League survival.
