Newcastle United striker and star summer signing, Alexander Isak, has been given the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for March.

In the month of March, Isak scored three goals in three Premier League games – one against Wolves and a brace against Nottingham Forest in a 2-1 away win.

He is growing in maturity with each passing game. While he is a deadly threat when hanging off the shoulder of the last man, he has also improved his link play and his ability to hold the ball up.

The PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award is based on a voting system. Fans will be given a selection of players to vote on for each month, with the winner being the footballer who received the highest number of votes. In this instance, Isak won 28% of the public vote to take home the award.

The other nominees for the award were Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Solly March and England international Tyrone Mings.

It isn’t the first time a Newcastle player has won the PFA Player of the Month award this season – back in October, it was awarded to Toon winger Miguel Almiron, who is also Newcastle’s top goalscorer in the Premier League.
