Les Ferdinand

One of the most underrated strikers of the Premier League era, Les Ferdinand gets far less recognition than his record merits.

A goal machine when he first started out at QPR, he hit the ground running at Newcastle – finding the back of the net on 29 occasions during his premiere season at the Toon.

While he’s largely overshadowed by the next two entries on our list, a player of Ferdinand’s immense quality should not be forgotten. He was less successful after leaving the Magpies – but nevertheless, he remains one of their best strikers in history.
