Newcastle ‘Insiders’ Claim That Club Have Signed A Player Who Could Be Worth More Than £90M ‘In A Few Years’

Newcastle “insiders” believe that Tino Livramento’s value could triple “in a few years” according to I News reporter Mark Douglas.

The Magpies paid an initial £32m to secure the fullback’s signature from Southampton earlier this month, but there is a feeling that he could be worth in excess of £90m if he realises his potential.

Livramento has only played 35 senior games (including his brief first appearance for Newcastle against Manchester City), but the fact that one of his former clubs Chelsea had a £50m buyback clause on the player demonstrates how highly he is rated.

The Blues also had a hefty sell-on clause, which meant that the Magpies had to go well beyond the £15m that they originally bid for the right-back, but it seems that club staff believe the investment will be well worth it.

Fans will have to be patient with Livramento

The 20-year-old is not only still very young but he has also had to recover from a serious injury over the past year.

Livramento sustained an ACL near the end of the 2021/22 season and he spent the best part of thirteen months in rehab before he was eventually ready to return to first-team football. It means that his introduction into the first team will be slow.

That shouldn’t be too much of a concern with Kieran Trippier at the club, but supporters may have to wait until the Carabao Cup to see Livramento start a game.

Newcastle have two exciting young fullbacks

In addition to Livramento, the Magpies have managed to snap up Lewis Hall on an initial loan deal from Chelsea. The 18-year-old will join on a permanent basis next year for £28m but, like with his former Blues teammate, it is felt that the teenager will pay back his fee and then some.

Hall could well be a regular starter before Livramento considering his progress, but manager Eddie Howe has said that he may have to wait to make his debut due to his lack of match fitness.
