Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has selected Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope and fullback Kieran Trippier among the best players in the Premier League this campaign.
Both Pope and Trippier have contributed hugely to the Magpies exceeding expectations and qualifying for the Champions League.
Pope has been a revelation since moving from Burnley for £10m, keeping 14 clean sheets, with a save percentage of 74.6%. Trippier, meanwhile, has been incredibly consistent on the right-hand side of defence, scoring one goal and providing seven assists in 37 matches.
In terms of the rest of the eleven that Neville picked, Arsenal’s William Saliba, Manchester City’s Ruben Dias and Brighton left-back Pervis Estupinan joined Trippier in the back four.
Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri were partnered with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard as part of a midfield three. Up front, Neville went with Gunners forwards Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli either side of Erling Haaland.

Neville’s colleague at Sky also included Trippier in his best eleven, but rather than picking Pope, he went with Sven Botman.
The Dutchman has had an outstanding first campaign in England, having joined from Lille for £35m last summer.
