Leicester attacking midfielder James Maddison is interested in joining Newcastle, according to I Sport reporter Mark Douglas.
The journalist claims the 26-year-old has already discussed the possibility of a transfer with England teammate Kieran Trippier:
🕵️ Agent Trips

While most fans on Twitter are excited about the prospect of Maddison moving to St James’ Park, not all are convinced he should be the club’s no.1 target:
Top top player.hopefully first of many thru the door this summer

19 goal contributions in a probably relegated team is unbelievable. We've all seen what he can do in a more successful side and under Eddie Howe he will only improve. Get him in.

His stats for a relegation zone team are insane. As if people are saying no.

It is believed that Arsenal and Manchester United are also keen on signing Maddison, while Leicester are said to be holding out for around £45m for the player, who has 19 goal contributions this season.
With the Magpies having done a lot of groundwork to get a deal in place, though, the feeling is that Eddie Howe’s side remain favourites to secure Maddison’s signature in the coming weeks.
The club have considered alternatives, with both RB Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai and Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus having been scouted, but it appears that the Leicester star is the preferred option at the moment.
