“If There Is Interest, I Will Consider It” £60M Rated Playmaker Makes Transfer Admission As Newcastle Circle

Newcastle target Dominik Szoboszlai has admitted that he would “consider” leaving RB Leipzig if the right opportunity comes along this summer.

The Magpies have been scouting the Hungarian international and, when asked about a potential transfer, Szoboszlai refused to rule anything out:

“If there is interest, I will consider it. Not because I don’t have a good turn in Leipzig, but because I have always been interested in challenges.”

Szoboszlai does have a €70m (£60m) release clause which could tempt Eddie Howe’s side into making an offer for the player but the club are also looking at other options.

Leicester’s James Maddison is still a target and, with the 26-year-old likely to cost less than Szoboszlai (at around £40m to £50m), he may well be considered as a better alternative.

Newcastle have also been mentioned as a potential suitor for Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus, with his agent having spoken out in recent days to say that the Ghanaian is keen to move this summer.

Szoboszlai is a talented young player with a big future

At 22 years of age, Szoboszlai may have more potential than the likes of Maddison or Kudus. He has really stepped up his performances this season, leading to both the Magpies and Chelsea to keep a close eye on him.

9 goals and 13 assists in 45 appearances is a good return, and you wouldn’t put it past the playmaker improving those numbers next campaign. We shall have to wait and see whether he does end up at St James’ Park.
