Newcastle Shot-Stopper Posts Adorable Photo With Pet Pooch On Instagram

Newcastle United’s backup goalkeeper, Loris Karius, has posted a picture of himself holding an adorable pet puppy whilst out on his travels.

He is holding the puppy, which appears to be a pomeranian mixed breed, in the breast compartment of his waistcoat – it certainly looks happy to be there!

For the post’s caption, Karius simply put an emoji of a lion’s head. Is he aware of the species of the animal he is holding? It’s a forgivable mistake – his puppy certainly has a beautiful mane.

The post currently has over 100,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who’ve liked the post include Nick Pope, Sean Longstaff and Matty Targett.

Additionally, a few of Karius’ teammates left a comment on the post in admiration of his pet dog. They included flying winger Allan Saint-Maximin and Jacob Murphy.

Karius’ last Newcastle United appearance came during the Toon’s 2-0 defeat in the League Cup final against Manchester United. In that game, the German ‘keeper’s performance was called into question – however, some fans took to his defence, stating that there was little he could have done about the goals he let in.

The former Liverpool man has posted pictures of his dogs on Instagram before – however, the dog featured in this post has not been seen before. We don’t even know the little mutt’s name!
