A Newcastle United transfer target, Borna Sosa, has reportedly said ‘goodbye’ to his VfB Stuttgart teammates ahead of a possible transfer [via BILD].

With two years left on his current contract, Stuttgart could command a hefty fee for the highly-rated Sosa’s services. As things stand, their asking price for the player is at around £22 million – anyone wishing to snap him up must at least meet this amount.

Sosa has been one of the standout fullbacks in the Bundesliga this season. Across all competitions, the Croatian registered 12 assists and scored two goals in 30 appearances.

A left-back by trade, Sosa would be a brilliant addition to the Mags’ squad – currently, they are in desperate need of a quality player in that position.

After three successful years with DZG, he signed for VfB Stuttgart in 2018 for an undisclosed fee. His first year at the club was not a prosperous one – not only did he suffer a slew of injuries, Die Schwaben were also relegated to the Bundesliga 2.
