Simon Jordan Makes Transfer Prediction About Chelsea Contract Rebel That Will Delight Newcastle Fans

TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan says he expects Chelsea to sell midfielder Mason Mount at the end of the season.

The England international has been linked with Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester City, with the player struggling to agree a contract extension at his current club. Asked about Mount’s future, Jordan said:

“Mason Mount I think is one of those that is not going to make the cut in Chelsea’s new way of building and buying. Because he’s on Chelsea’s balance sheet as a zero cost because he’s an academy payer, then I very much think he could be one of those that are sold… I think Mason Mount will be sold by Chelsea. The problem is, who buys him at top money and who pays him top money? That I don’t know.”

Mount is currently earning only £80,000 a week at Chelsea and he is believed to want parity with the club’s top earners such as Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James.

Newcastle would be in a great position to match the 24-year-old’s salary demands, and they could also potentially offer him Champions League football if they finish in the top four.

From the sound of things, Mount’s priority is to remain at Stamford Bridge but, if Jordan’s prediction turns out to be correct, there is a chance that he may end up making the switch to St James’ Park under the right circumstances.
