REPORT: Newcastle, City And Arsenal ‘Keeping An Eye’ On Italian Teenage Sensation Who Has Scored Over 500 Goals

Newcastle are “keeping an eye” on AC Milan striker Francesco Camarda’s contract situation, according to Calciomercato.com.

The teenager has yet to sign a professional contract and the Rossoneri remain concerned that he could be snapped up by a foreign club.

In addition to the Magpies, it is believed that Manchester City, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Camarda, who has already made his senior debut at 15 years of age.

Milan boss Stefano Pioli handed the forward two substitute appearances in successive league games against Fiorentina and Frosinone late last year.

Camarda hasn’t played for the first team since then but he has continued to impress with his performances at youth level.

The Italian has been extremely prolific in Milan’s academy

Camarda started out at Afforese, a football school in Milan, before officially joining the Rossoneri at the age of just 7. He has progressed through the age groups, accumulating over 500 goals.

The striker is currently playing most of his football with Milan’s Under 19 team, having scored 7 goals in the Primavera, 3 in the Coppa Primavera and another 3 in the UEFA Youth League this season.

Camarda actually faced Newcastle twice in the latter competition, scoring a brace and an assist in the first game during a 4-0 victory back in September. That performance likely attracted the attention of the Magpies’ scouts.

Will Brexit rules complicate Newcastle’s attempts to sign Camarda?

A ban was put in place on English clubs signing players under the age of 18 from abroad following the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union.

However, work permit rules have been adjusted since then allowing exceptions for players who possess significant potential. Considering Camarda’s exploits at youth level in Italy, it is safe to say that he would qualify for a visa.
