Newcastle United have done it! For the first time in almost two decades, the Magpies will be playing Champions League football next season, after drawing 0-0 with Leicester City – to the delight of the Toon Army.
As such, many Newcastle United fans took to Twitter to express their joy. They heaped praise on manager Eddie Howe, who has built a brilliant, yet carefully-crafted squad to take the Toon to the next level.
While some fans may be concerned about the size of the squad heading into next season, especially with extra games to play, they are currently happy to indulge in celebrations – and rightly so.
Here’s what Newcastle United fans had to say on Twitter, following their club’s monumental achievement. The Mike Ashley era certainly seems like a distant memory at this point.

How will Newcastle United do next season?
At this point in time, how Newcastle United will perform in the Champions League next season is anyone’s guess. One thing is for certain – a crucial summer transfer window awaits the Mags.
They have plenty of top players in their team, such as Sven Botman, Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes – but an injury to any of these three could scupper Newcastle’s game plan.
Due to this, much of the summer window must be focused on adding quality depth. Their transfer policy has been very solid so far – can they keep up the good work?
