Newcastle have been in touch with the entourage of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, according to Relevo.
The Spanish website claims that the Magpies are the favourites to land the Brazilian international, with none of the other traditional “Big Six” clubs having registered their interest so far:
🧐 ¿Un fichaje ‘random’ histórico?
🏴 Un equipo de la Premier League ha preguntado por Neymar.

However, it is believed that negotiations haven’t progressed beyond enquiries at this stage, and the main reason for that is Neymar’s wage demands.
The 31-year-old is reportedly earning around £44m a year with PSG and that would break Newcastle’s wage structure, making any deal rather complicated.
Who else is interested in signing Neymar?
Manchester United and Chelsea have been tipped as the two other teams who could potentially afford the player, but neither side have made a serious attempt to secure his signature at this stage.
PSG are said to be keen to get Neymar’s salary off the wage bill, and the Brazilian is open to a switch to England, so we shall have to wait and see whether the Magpies or another club do step up their interest.
