David Ornstein Names The Arsenal, Chelsea And Liverpool Targets That Newcastle WON’T Sell

Newcastle will not entertain offers for Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes or Sven Botman, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the trusted journalist said the Magpies do need to sell players but there are at least three who won’t be offloaded:

“The word within football is that an outgoing is going to happen at Newcastle whether it’s January or the summer there has to be a significant sale.”

“Off the back of that came reports that it would be one of the star names like Botman, Guimaraes, or Alexander Isak, but I was immediately pushed away from those names, those are the players Newcastle want to keep and build with.”

Fans will be relieved to hear that Newcastle won’t sell key players

Isak is believed to be attracting interest from both Arsenal and Manchester City, having scored 14 goals in 23 appearances this season.

Botman, meanwhile has had his injury problems over the past few months but, like Isak, the Dutchman will be a key figure for the Magpies going forward.

Guimaraes’ future at St James’ Park is less clear-cut

While Newcastle do have full control over whether they sell Isak or Botman, the existence of a release clause means that there is no way to guarantee that Guimaraes will stay.

When the Brazilian international signed his new 5-year contract back in October, it included a buyout fee. While the figure is said to be in excess of £100m, it may not put off potential suitors.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all been linked with Guimaraes over the past twelve months, and Magpies supporters will just have to hope that one of these four clubs doesn’t end up triggering the clause in the future.
