Newcastle United Vs Wolves: Match Preview & Injury News

Newcastle United will be looking to put an end to their poor run of form when they take on a struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers outfit.

Newcastle will be without Emil Krafth, Ryan Fraser and Joelinton for the game against Wolves. Krafth and Fraser are still recovering from their respective injuries, while Joelinton will undergo a two-game suspension after picking up ten yellow cards over the course of the Premier League season.

Additionally, Fabian Schar is a doubt, as he picked up a facial injury during the Magpies’ 2-0 defeat against Manchester United in the League Cup final. He missed out on Newcastle’s last Premier League game, where they lost to Manchester City – whether he will be ready to face Wolves is currently unclear.

In that game against City, Newcastle were largely outclassed by Pep Guardiola’s team. The goals came through Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva – the Toon offered little in response, as they fell to yet another 2-0 loss.

Meanwhile, Wolves were victorious in their last game, as they beat Antonio Conte’s Tottenham by a score of 1-0. Former Barcelona and Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore fired a wicked shot into the back of the net – Spurs were stunned and couldn’t find an equaliser.

Newcastle and Wolves met earlier in the season, all the way back in August, with the scoreline finishing at 1-1. Wolves led for most of the game, following a strike from Ruben Neves – however, Allan Saint-Maximin popped up at the death to net a last-minute leveller for the Toon.

Naturally, Wolves will be out for revenge and Newcastle will need to be on top of their game to deny them what they desire.
